Foundation
The Foundation is anchored in its commitment and service to its five areas of giving: basic needs, loneliness and isolation, socialization and personal development, cognitive disorders, and living environment. These areas guide our giving and choice of donation recipients. This year’s recipients have, together, a distinguished history of supporting the elder community of Montreal.
As we chart the way forward, the Foundation’s members of the Board of Directors understand that our work is to support the elderly through innovative approaches that care for them in a changing world.
With an eye on the future, all the while being mindful of the contributions of those who have written the Foundation’s success story, we have recently moved to a more central location on Greene Avenue in Westmount. We have undertaken an unprecedented effort to renew our giving and expand our reach into communities across the island previously not served by our funding. In 2022-2023, more than $2.21 Millions was donated to 44 organizations in the Greater Montreal Area. Helping the elderly, the impoverished, and the isolated with innovative programs and new ways of thinking to reach out to our community. We salute their efforts and will continue to support them.
We have great plans for 2023 – 2024 and we look forward to working with you to improve local services and support the elderly in our community.
Values
RESPECT
To recognize the intrinsic value of each person we help, because every resident of a long-term care facility and elderly person in our society deserves to be valued.
DIGNITY
To treat our elderly by offering help and special attention in their everyday lives in the manner which they deserve to be treated as important members of our community.
KINDNESS
The manner in which we approach our elderly population guides the actions of the Grace Dart Foundation. Our work embodies our motto: Love and Care.
